Is the change something that you usually try to avoid (even by trying to be indifferent about it) or an attractive wish list.
We may have heard or we may believe on 'change your questions, change your life', 'change your mind, change your body' or the famous quote of Gandhi; ' be that change you want to see in the world'. But sometimes we may get lost in the invasion of big fundamental questions, that we may give up at the first little steps. Sometimes, we are so confused or under pressure which we could not be aware of where we stand and what the damn thing we need to change!!

No matter our gender, age, race or type we all have one common starting point and one common navigator for change: Our comfort Zone and Our mind. The interesting thing is that we need to deal with a navigator, the mind, who is also the source of all the boundaries to change! (We'll come back to this issue later)
No matter which human behavior model to follow psychodynamic, behaviorism, TA..., we are commonly living in our comfort
zone. The comfort zone is described as a mental conditioning that
causes a person to create and operate mental boundaries. These personal boundaries include: beliefs, opinions, past experiences, habits
and social learning.
Our comfort zone may not be even a
comfortable place to stay in, but usually we predict that stepping out of it
may be make us more uncomfortable. So we try to cling to our safe beliefs and
habits, which make us who we are (as we think), as much as possible.
Some people say magic happens outside of this comfort zone and show it by the following draw:

zone Magic!)
I say the
magic (moving from ordinary life to extra ordinary) is the process of stepping out, and the result is just a regulated outcome.
There is also another model which categorizes the stepping out to three level of : Stretch, Risk and danger.

By understanding the student
capabilities (zones), the flight trainers try to keep the students to experience flight in their stretch zone.
I'll continue the discussion and a
new model of human comfort zone later. Meantime, you can have quiz about your
own comfort zone at:
